New year clean up and this beach were in dire need of it. With Danny, Thomas, Hass and Melissa

Christmas usually doesn’t do much for me anymore. But this year was different. I let myself be dragged along by friends and ended up enjoying myself immensely with good food, carolling, other music and the warm glow of friendship.
New year was however always my kind of holiday. The promise of new beginnings, new opportunities and new hope. It also always is a time for reflection for me. Looking back, planning forward, full knowingly that plans are just a guideline and can be changed as rapidly as circumstances change. And a lot has changed for me. I have become more positive overall. Yes, I still have the tendency to see the negative and winter still brings on depression, but I am not spiralling so deep anymore and my friends here have a sixth sense to plan fun stuff when I feel the worst.

It’s funny how someone who was just a stranger last year, can mean so much to you now. And on the other hand, it’s sad how someone who meant so much to you last year, can be a stranger now.

My New Years resolution this year is simple: Be kind, be useful and be open-minded to people and experiences!
