Started the day like any sensible traveller: breakfast, caffeine, and giving nicknames to birds. Kevin the hooded crow followed us through St. Stephen’s Green before we hit up Kaph for a smooth coffee.

The highlight? The Book of Kells at Trinity College. The illuminated manuscript itself was stunning, but the real magic hit me in The Long Room. That library made me feel like I’d fallen into a dream where books hold the walls up and time breathes ink.

Nezt on the schedule was getting haunted by Ireland’s past at the National Museum, gazing at the Tara Brooch and the bog bodies—fascinating and creepy in equal measure.

After lunch, we dove into liquid history at the Guinness Storehouse. The scent lab, the bubble room, the view from the Gravity Bar, and Sarah accidentally dressing like a pint herself—it was all… frothy perfection.

But we weren’t done with drinks yet. Next stop: Teeling Whiskey Distillery. The tour kicked off with a hilarious bathroom detour (don’t ask) and a guide who had a personal contract with the word “OK.” Still, watching the whiskey-making process unfold from malt to barrel was fascinating. The tasting afterwards? A revelation. Smooth, complex, and slightly dangerous. Sarah and I sipped and smirked our way through the flight, fully leaning into the Dublin spirit(s).

We capped off the day with Dinner. Boxtie served us the world’s best potato pancake fries and a stew that tasted like it had been simmering since the famine. We toasted the day with ginger ales at Grogan’s, beneath the stained-glass gaze of Katharine Lamb’s “The Day People.”
